What Swapify+ actually does
This list is limited to things the app has been observed doing against a real Shopify store. Where something is built but not switched on yet, it is named at the bottom rather than hidden in here.
For your customers
A portal that knows the order
They enter an email and order number; the items come from Shopify. No typing in what they think they bought.
Line-by-line requests
Different reasons and different outcomes on the same order — refund one item, exchange another.
Exchanges with a real chooser
They pick the replacement variant from your live catalogue, with its price and image, not a note asking for a swap.
Photos where you need them
Require photos per policy, so a damaged-item claim arrives reviewable.
Honest estimates
An exchange shows the likely difference based on what they actually paid — and says nothing where it cannot work it out honestly.
For your team
One review screen
The request, the photos, the line items, the order, and the full history in one place.
Approve or reject with a note
Your wording reaches the customer, or none does.
Returns created in Shopify
One press creates the real return against the right fulfilment lines.
Shopify's figure, confirmed
See what Shopify says the outcome is worth and confirm it before anything settles.
An audit trail that survives
Every decision is recorded with who made it and when, and stays readable after staff leave.
Underneath
Exactly-once writes
Every Shopify mutation is claimed in a ledger first. Concurrency produces one return, not two.
Reconciliation, not retries
An attempt with an unknown outcome is resolved by asking Shopify, never by sending again.
Live permission checks
Permission to move money is checked against Shopify before every write, not read from a cache.
Tenant isolation
Every query is scoped to one merchant by construction, and enforced again by the database.
Policy you control
Return and exchange windows, photo requirements, refunds and exchanges on or off, per store.
Not yet, and we would rather say so
Email notifications are built and not yet switched on. When they are, they will be sent after the return and the refund, never before, so that a mail problem can never affect what happened to your money.
Return shipping labels are not part of Swapify+ today. Your customers are told to wait for your instructions rather than being promised a label that does not arrive.
Cross-currency estimates. If an order was placed in a different currency from your catalogue, the portal declines to estimate the difference and explains why. Shopify still settles it correctly; we simply will not guess at a conversion in front of your customer.
